2025/26 Evaluations
New for 2025/26
Female Council assembled a team to benchmark the evaluation processes used in all the Female Hockey Associations (FHA) in the province and compare those against policies and recommendations from Hockey Nova Scotia and Hockey Canada. The goal is to improve the evaluation experience for all involved to give a fair an equitable assessment to ensure athletes get placed on teams appropriate for their development and skill level. The team developed the Standardized Evaluation Guidelines posted below. These guidelines must be applied by all FHAs during the 205/26 evaluation period.

Please be advised that our evaluation policy has been updated. We kindly ask all participants to review the changes before the upcoming evaluations. If you have any questions, please reach out to us at evaluations@valleywildhockey.ca
Key Changes: - TO BE UPDATED
- Head Coach Authority: The Head Coach will have the ability to pick the last 2 players for the team from players ranked 14-17
- Parent Restrictions: No parents are allowed to stand around the glass at the end of the rink.
- Competing Sports: Clear expectations regarding competing sports; no approval to miss evaluations for other sports.
- Evaluation Format: The evaluation format has changed for U13/U15. skills, inter-squad, inter-squad, exhibition.
- Player Success Publication: Player success will be communicated via email before public posting.
