U13 Tryouts

Tryout Update U13- Updated September 23, 2022

Thanks for your patience as we worked out the tryout schedule for this group. Below are the tryout times for the U13 group. All sessions will be at the Kentville Arena.
***Session 1 -Wednesday September 21st- 6:30-8:00pm
***Session 2- Sunday September 25th- 3:30-4:30 pm
***Session 3 - Wednesday September 28th- 6:30-8:00pm
Remember your tryout fee is due before you step on the ice. Etransfer are preferred payment. If paying in person, please let us know ahead of time at valleywildtreasurer@gmail.com.

Free Goalie Pre Season Sessions

Attention all current and aspiring Valley Wild Goalies!!
We will be holding 2 pre-season sessions with Goalie Trainer Rob Daye on September 10th and 17th from 9-11am at West Hants Sportsplex. A third session will be booked later in September and we will continue throughout the season as well. Please let us know if you can make it. FREE, no cost to attend!
For those who are thinking of becoming a goalie, we have gear for you, and we will develop you.
Goalies always pay 50% registration at Valley Wild, so come see what the fun is about!

Join Our Teams!

Are you new to hockey and looking to learn how to play? Our learn to play program is for ages 4-14, and provides a great way to get out and have some fun. We can even help out with loaner gear! Cost is only $250 for 12-14 weeks. Learn to play will begin November 2022.
Do you have or know of novice age players looking to be involved in playing on an all female team? We are looking for 7 & 8 year old players with birth years Jan 1, 2014 & December 31, 2015 to join our Novice teams. Novice teams play half ice games giving them lots of opportunity to touch the puck. They practice only until December 1, and then will begin playing half ice games.
We will soon be holding tryouts for our Rep level teams. Registration will soon be closing , so if you haven't registered now is your chance!
We plan to host teams from U11- U18 this year, and would love to have you on our teams. U13AAA and U15AAA tryouts will begin towards the end of September, and everyone else will be after October 1, 2022.
All info to register can be found at www.valleywildhockey.ca and click on the registration tab. You will find our costs under the fees tab, and we even have a great faq document on the costs to play hockey .

Valley Wild Novice Program

Valley Wild is Looking for U9(Novice) players for our female program !!! If your daughter's birth age is between Jan 1, 2014 & December 31, 2015, we would love to see her join our league. No experience is necessary!
Does your daughter want to play on an all female team this season?
If her answer is YES, then please register with Valley Wild Female Hockey Association this season.
Valley Wild would be happy to register your daughter with our association and form an all girls team in your local area. This team would be formed and placed in the development level of play in the same minor league as your local association. In addition to continuing to play in your local area, Valley Wild will also schedule exhibition games against other all female teams throughout the season to get the opportunity to play and compete with all females. In addition, you will also have the benefit of registering for all female tournaments as a team. These teams will follow the same practice and half ice game rules that the co-ed/boys teams do, but will allow younger girls that want to play only with other girls the opportunity to do so. The introduction of all female novice teams will only help us continue the long standing success and development of University, Midget AAA, Prep School and even Hockey Canada players.

Valley Wild Registration

VALLEY WILD FEMALE HOCKEY ASSOCIATION REGISTRATION 2022-2023 IS NOW OPEN!!!

We are happy to announce that registration for the Valley Wild Female Hockey Association is open for the 2022-2023 season!

We are pleased to offer our registration exclusively through TeamSnap this year with online payments, credit card or in person payments. If you do not already have a TeamSnap account you will have to create one, but that’s very easy to do. For those of you who already have a TeamSnap account it should only take you a few minutes to register, even from your phone! If you have problems please email us at valleywildtreasurer@gmail.com or message us on Facebook.

There will be no paper or in person registrations. Registration will be online only. All communication will be done through TeamSnap. If you are not registered, then you may miss out on important Association information.

There will be no preseason camp in Kentville this year due to ice availability, but 4P Hockey plans to offer ice sessions in Windsor before the season begins. Stay tuned to Valley Wild for more info.

REGISTRATION

It's important to note that registration is only a portion of your total fees to play. For U11 teams and above, there will be additional team fees to cover the costs of playing hockey, which are all detailed in our 2022 Cost of Playing Hockey VWFHA . Each team is given the opportunity to fundraise these additional fees, and are provided with two installment dates to pay these fees to the board.

HOCKEY CANADA VACCINE POLICY: Currently, all players and bench staff are required to be vaccinated in order to attend any Hockey Canada events or championship events. This is subject to change, but as of today, the Hockey Canada policy is still in effect.

Learn to Play -(Ages 4-14) - $250

U9 - $650

U11 - $700

U13 - $750

U15 - $800

U18 - $850

Payments accepted are:

-Cash, cheque in person

Tryout Dates will be dictated by Public Health and Hockey Nova Scotia Return to Play Guidelines. The current Return to Play Guideline is estimating tryouts will begin after October 1, 2022 (date subject to change). Note: there are no tryouts for Novice

Refunds:

Valley Wild will refund players a certain amount based on the date of withdraw. Players withdraw for a number of reasons but it is essential that if you are withdrawing to contact our registrar (registrar@valleywildhockey.ca) immediately as the date the request is received is the date that will be used to calculate the refund.

Full refunds will be made prior to registration closing on November 1st Tryout fees are non-refundable

November 1st - November 30th a 75% refund will be issued

December 1st – December 31st a 50% refund will be issued ·

There will be no refunds after December 31st, unless Hockey Canada and/or Hockey NS shut us down due to the pandemic. If they do, refund percentages will be prorated based on the date of shut down · Refunds will be given for registration amounts only. Team Rep fees will not be refunded. Any fund-raised amounts toward player registration are non-refundable
